Welcome Mrs. Stensland's Kindergarteners! What's Happening Calendar through Thanksgiving! Welcome to Morning and Afternoon Kindergarten: ___________________ Welcome to Kindergarten 2009-2010
Our art docents came
this week to work with our classes on the color wheel. We mixed
our own paints in baggies, and learned about primary and
secondary colors!
Our turkeys will be safe this Thanksgiving --- they are disguised so no one will eat them!
We are studying
seasonal changes, including why leaves change color!
The afternoon class
had a fantastic Halloween party! Thanks to all the parents who
helped!
The morning class all dressed for the big Halloween party!
We have been reading stories about using our imagination, and loved the story "Where the Wild Things Are". We painted our own wild things and have all 42 on display in our room!
Afternoon applesauce was wonderful too! Thanks Mrs. Fouts for helping us!
Our apple data was posted outside of our room so we could compare the AM and PM classes. Peyton recorded our final conclusion, that more students liked red apples.
We celebrated fire safety week with a visit from our local firefighters!
The firefighters did a "Darth Vader" impression in their smoke gear! (We loved this!)
Mother Goose visited our classroom before she flew south for the winter. We recited our nursery rhymes for her!
We learned how to peel an apple and turn it into a slinky at the same time!
We carefully cut the slinky apples into small chunks, and then put them into the crock pot and cooked them all day! Wow did our room smell great! (The applesauce tasted great as well!)
